Default Sleep's Holy Mountain vs. Dopesmoker

So, the greatest album Sabbath never recorded, or an alleged stoner drone masterpiece?

**** you Batty I'll give an explanation if I feel like it. Seriously though Dopesmoker is an hour of pure stoner metal riffs, it's legendary.

Holy Mountain is pretty great as well I must admit.

I dig Dopesmoker when I'm in the right mood, but the volume has to be past 11 for it to sound like anything but droning. Holy Mountain just sounds like the seventies times ten.

I don't understand why drones are a bad thing. Holy Mountain is great as well, but the tone on Dopesmoker is too badass to ignore. That **** gets my vote.

I'm not against droning, but it's not something I'm inclined to listen to on a regular basis, whereas the more traditional doom riffs of Holy Mountain are just ear crack. The vocals are also superior.

The riffs sound like watered-down Pentagram. Holy Mountain’s vocals rule though.
