I'm glad that other bands improved on four white guys failing at the blues.

lol @ Zeppelin is heavier than Sabbath. Maybe Chula doesn't smoke mids after all.

Poll: Did 21st Century Schizoid Man beat Sabbath to the punch?

Neither could Zep. That's why they stole all their best riffs.

Nah, music in the late sixties was getting heavier with or without Zep's influence. And Pre-Sabbath Metal really isn't that rare. 68 and 69 were great years for heavy Blues Rock.

I like both, I like early Leppelin live, but I love Sabbath. I just really dig the doomy guitar riffs and the lyrics. I probably like every track of the first 11 Sabbath albums, I don't think I could say the same for Zeppelin.

Sabbath wins by several miles.

Sabbath I think. They had more time to develop than Zeppelin did. On the other hand they did also have more time to fail.

Both are legendary bands for good reason, but I personally prefer Black Sabbath. I think their albums were generally more consistent with less filler at their height than Zeppelin was.

Sabbath. But Zeppelin comes close, if for nothing other than Presence and "Moby Dick". Call me Ishmael, stupid.

Oh yeah! Nice to see some appreciation for Presence, always have thought it to be so underrated. My favorite Zeppelin album personally. The opening of "Tea for One" is one of my favorite riffs ever:
