Iommi couldn't have come up with something like this (or even played it) if he lived for a million years. Damn, Page, Jones, and Bonham nailed this thing.

I prefer Sabbath to Zeppelin, but I don't think Iommi was that great of a guitarist on a technical level, so you're probably right.

All I know is Black Sabbath didn't release Led Zeppelin 1 so that means Black Sabbath is the better band.

Possibly the most overrated classic rock album not made by Pink Floyd.

I think I'm perfectly neutral on Zeppelin. They exist. That's about it. I'm only jokingly pretending that I hate them.

So in a sense, I think all their albums are somewhat overrated, but not extremely so.

Dissing on LZ1? Are you freaking kidding me? Pretty sure Sabbath wouldn't have even existed without this song, recorded almost a year before Sabbath's debut.

Bonham.......... good lord. Such an incredible drum track. And Plant........ primal.

Iommi definitely stole his double tracked stereo solos idea from Page.

And still heavier than anything Sabbath ever did.

Who ****ing cares what wouldn't have existed without what? Are you not capable of liking something without it having bragging rights? It's a godawful boring slog of an album that influenced far better music.

I don't know if I'd change my opinion of the band if I listened to this whole album again, but listening to the track above, I'm going to reiterate this point: I might prefer Sabbath, but Zeppelin obviously could play circles around Sabbath any day of the week.

For the record, I ****ing love Black Sabbath. It's all good. Both Volume 4 and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath are way up there on my list.
