Absolutely. A big criticism of AC/DC is that their music all sounds the same, so idk if that's what OP meant to ask or not. Generic and unimaginative aren't the same thing.

Yes, absolutely, and I don't think it's necessarily a negative thing to say about their music. The general definition of generic is "relating to a class or group of things; not specific", there is nothing that AC/DC has done (that I've ever heard at least) that other rock bands haven't been doing since the birth of hard rock, they just do it their way and it works magnitudes better than most who try to do it the same way.

AC/DC naturally fell into a formula that was wildly successful for them, they were born to play the music that they play and they know it, there was a never a reason to adventure outside of that niche, at least not within the entity that is AC/DC. But there is nothing unusual about their formula, it's one of the most simplified and unadventurous formulas in the history of rock and roll, and there's nothing wrong with that because they do it so god damn well.

I don't know if there's much to understand. But I don't hate the band anymore like I used to. I'm ok with AC/DC, but I wouldn't choose to put their music on.

They're scuzzy guys who like playing balls out blues rock really ****ing loud and with no pretensions. If they tried anything else it would be an embarrassing failure and everyone would be telling them to stay in their lane. They just can't win except by checking their bank accounts. I'm not a huge fan of Brian Johnson AC/DC but with Bon Scott there aren't many bands in history that could encapsulate the beating heart and soul of rock n roll so perfectly.

I think Brian Johnson is really my main issue with the band.

AC/DC are fun cock-rock for when you're in the mood for them. But when every song is fun cock rock with little variation I start to feel like I'm going insane. There's a reason they were popular but they ain't full of rich complexities.
