Do you consider AC/DC music to be GENERIC rock or not?

What you say?

OccultHawk 11-15-2018 12:12 PM

**** no

They absolutely have a signature sound they created

Totally unique

MicShazam 11-15-2018 01:33 PM

Generic hard rock almost, but they do have a sound.
A lot of hard rock tends to sound a slight bit more glam metal-ish, so I think of AC/DC as being maybe slightly off-center in relation to the most typical hard rock sound.

When I think generic hard rock, I guess I think of something like Doro. Millions of bands sound like that.

Unitron 11-15-2018 01:39 PM

No. I don't consider them to be generic rock, as they clearly have a signature sound that is uniquely their own.

Are the band kind of generic with their own music? I'd yes, the only time they really changed their sound was the switch from Bon Scott to Brian Johnson.

ripping off AC/DC is generic

MicShazam 11-15-2018 01:41 PM

All the Brian Johnson albums are basically 100% the same album with a different cover (scam of the century!), but they sure sound very AC/DC.

Key 11-15-2018 02:43 PM

I don't know many vocalists that sound like Brian Johnson. So yes, it is unique.

Frownland 11-15-2018 02:53 PM

Generic as ****.

I don't think being the trailblazers of a sound that quickly became generic makes them inherently generic. That said, I don't like them. Can't listen to more than like 3 AC/DC songs in a row without feeling deja vu.

MicShazam 11-15-2018 03:15 PM

I think it's impossible to avoid deja vu if you listen to more than 1.
