I hope to god we can see more of the artists we share the same love for, and new ones, gracing our ears once again.
Thanks again dude

What the ****..Look sid, Glam rock was great, it didn't need to die at all. Glam rock wasn't just about an outrageous stage presence and dress sense, although it was for some bands. Alice Cooper, T-Rex and New York Dolls are three such bands that although glam made great music too, including good use of the guitar, especially in Cooper's case. And I have to agree with those before me, the true greats of guitar are those who have passion, and technique e.g Eric Clapton, hendrix and Santana, not to mention people like Stevie Ray, Steve Vai or Joe Petrucci (Sp??) I will take Cream over any of the artsist you mentioned every day of the week!!

i think sid was refering to the glam metal(aka.hair metal)movement of the 80s, not the original glam rock movement of the early 70s.

who said he ever played 2 guitars?...dont make up something that isnt true...is rhoads instantly bad because hes a shreder?, not all shreders are bad...RR played fast but was still very tasteful when it came to constructing melodys, he played different scales and learned not to overuse them, add that he could play several other styles(like flamenco, as shown on Dee)...technicaly he was very impressive, but unlike some others he also had the creativity to back it up...he didnt overdo it like batio does...check out the blizzard of ozz album or tribute...if you like metal then you will probably enjoy them like i have. =)

i respect and envyous of the above mentioned guys that can fit a thousand notes into a song but great guitarist know that a few notes will do the job. ex. i saw dream theater and megadeath on the gigantour. i will listen to a band like dream theater when i read drive or plaing a game just to kept a good fluid sound going. but mid way through thier set i was board out of my mind you lose track of where the song begins and ends they last ten to fifteen mins. long that if your just trying to rock out you get bored. but when megadeath came on they where fast and to the points you know what song was what where the chorus and bridges where and was just a great set even though on that night was daves voice was going out. now i think most people will agree that both bands get down on a guitar but becuase megadeath isnt showing off they become more enjoyable

i dont fallow up on guitar players much = since thats all they are. im more intrested in the style than who sounds closest to Hendrix. and ill give you a example . The Doors guitar players was not exactly a guitar god but i would never replace him with no body in the world = why becouse he could flow with Jim Morrison twisted dark side. and the blend was perfect. some other would wail the wrong ways Jim songs would had not had the same impact, just lisen to The Doors absolutly live album and hear "When the music is over" and "The end" and by the way the absolutly album is the Doors best, like the Allman at Fillmore = im not kidding! .

Rock die in late 1972 you could strech it out to 1973. 1973 TO 1974 was like a Black Hole sucking everything up. by 1975 it was officially dead.
