I am a big fan of AC. I have many of his songs in my iTunes library.

My favourite album is Billion Dollar Babies. My favourite individual song is You Drive Me Nervous from the Killer album. His (and his *band´s*!) music from the years 1971 thru 1974 were his best.

The Alice Cooper Band (which is in the Rock HOF) released seven albums and had one of the best four album runs in the history of music; 'Love It To Death', 'Killer', 'School's Out', 'Billion Dollar Babies'. I would not call 'School's Out' essential but the other three certainly are.

The solo years began with 'Welcome To My Nightmare' and inconsistent music became the norm shortly thereafter ('75 - '83). In Alice's defense, the music industry was equally inconsistent with disco, punk, new wave and arena rock all competing for attention. Bonus info, Alice Cooper the solo performer is not in the Rock HOF.

In order to survive, Alice needed to define himself instead of trying to adapt to the musical landscape. He did this with the '86 release of 'Constrictor'. Alice was back to being menacing and was flanked by Rambo inspired Kane Roberts on guitar.

A funny thing happened, one of the biggest music trends of the mid/late '80's (glam metal) was a trend that Alice helped inspire. Not only was Alice relevant, he even had hit single (Poison). 'Poison' charted at #7 in the U.S. which equaled 'School's Out' as the highest charting single of Alice's career. The song was #2 in the U.K. becoming his highest charting song there.

Most of Alice's albums since have had a couple keepers and a few of the releases are pretty good albums. I recommend; 'The Eyes Of Alice Cooper' ('03), 'Dirty Diamonds' ('05), 'Detroit Stories' ('21), 'Road' ('23).

Do you know about Hollywood Vampires? The original 'Hollywood Vampires' were a bunch of heavy drinking musicians that would party together (Keith Moon, Ringo Starr, Micky Dolenz, Harry Nilsson and John Lennon). The band Hollywood Vampires includes Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, Johnny Depp and Tommy Henriksen. Their debut album ('15) is a killer. All songs are by deceased musicians.

I still go see Alice live and I always have a good time. See him while you can because he won't be around forever.
