Well I would say that anyone can make Foo music, lots of bands make better, but there aren't many drummers that can hold clout against grohl. In the same way that whatever clapton touched when he arrived on the scene turned into gold, so too has Daves drumming be associated with amazing music. The only thing I can think of they didn't go too great was Probot, but that isn't a band, and it wasn't bad, just not popular.

Fact is, the man is the greatest living drummer, and if you'd say otherwise, Ill ask you to give the catalouge of another drummer whos come up with such a diverse style with as much success.

Well his drumming isn't exactly the defining factor in any of those bands. Just drumming for a band doesn't mean you have any influence on the songs they write or the style they play. That he's been in lots of popular bands is more down to the fact he is well known and has lots of friends in bands. I'm not even sure how much influence he had on Nirvana (maybe someone else knows) but right now I'd say his most impressive achievement is his work with the Foo Fighters.

Lets see..... A drum battle between Dave Grohl and Neil Peart. Grohl doesn't stand a chance. There is so many drummers that are more creative and talented than Grohl...
