Default Albums never talked about

I don't mean stuff way out in obscurity or "underrated" albums, I mean good albums that just seem terribly overlooked because of other former or later releases by bands. A few examples:

Queens of the Stone Age - "s/t" - I still swear this is their best album, though they're all great. The next three seem to overshadow this one, though.

Suffocation - "Breeding the Spawn" - this poor guy got smashed between "Effigy of the Forgotten" and "Pierced from Within"...

Bruce Springsteen - "Nebraska" - I don't care if you don't like him (I really don't either), but this one released before "Born in the USA" does all sorts of winning.

Death - "Spiritual Healing" - of all the Death albums, this one is rarely mentioned, but it's a goodie.

I'll find more.

I have to say, Mothers Milk - Red Hot Chili Peppers alway seems overlooked, as does most of pre Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

Thursday's Debut "waiting" gets ignored alot, most people i've talked to didn't even know it existed..but it's been totally ignored due to full collapse and war al the time being amazing. I'm not saying waiting is better, but its a damn good album and it seems like no one pays any attention to it.

I have owned this album 5 times and I can't be without it
everybody knows either "Drugs In MY Pocket" or "Johnny b Rotton" or "Nice Legs Shame About Her Face"

I completely agree. Stone Cold Bush is one of my fav RHCP songs. Anything pre-BSSM seems to be very overlooked - in fact, I think BSSM is more overlooked than it should be.

BSSM was the farthest thing from overlooked. They hyped that album for over two years

Agreed, Freaky Styley and The Uplift Mofo Party Plan were both excellent albums too.

I feel certain songs on BSSM were overlooked.

BSSM gets both sides of the coin where I am. Some love it and recognise it, while others don't have a clue it was made by the same band that made Californication. More the latter to be fair though, not many people recognise the old school funk that was the Chili's earlier work.

I'ma say much of Collective Souls work, any and all albums. So many fabulous songs varying throughout their career, Where the River Flows, Runaway Train, The World I Know, December, Shine (whoa heaven let your light shine down...you guys know the one...), She Likes Me For Me, Precious Declaration...all reasonably well known songs yet no one ever knows the band behind them.

If I were to give an album, it would have to be their '95 Self Titled. A blinder of an album.

Nirvana's Bleach is underrated, IMO.

Maybe at the time. But there are a lot of "RHCP fans" who haven't actually heard BSSM.

So I stick by my words - it's not overlooked, but it is more overlooked than it should be.
