Agreed.

Sabbath w/ Dio >>>> Sabbath w/ Ozzy >>>> Maiden.

Neither are my favorite band in the world but, I do like Sabbath a whole lot more. And if you look at the bands both influenced it's Sabbath by far.

Sabbath's first four albums make up for all the crap that came afterwards, and are more than enough to beat out Maiden's best efforts.

Yes, the first 4 Black Sabbath albums were their best. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath was alright and Sabotage was good too.

Perhaps I haven't listened to Sabbath as much as I should have.

But Killers, Number Of The Beast, Powerslave, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son are all ****ing classics.

I prefer Iron Maiden by far.

Don't get me wrong though - I like Black Sabbath and doom is my favourite kind of metal.

When it comes to Black Sabbath, I prefer the Dio era. Ozzy is a good singer, but he's been much better solo.

However, Maiden is better by all accounts. Though I think both these bands are the greatest of legends when it comes to Heavy Metal.

Lets be honest.

The only music Iron Maiden influenced was a couple of sh*tty power metal bands.

Sabbaths influence goes beyond metal.
