with thier recent album "Shadows Are Security" what are your thought on this band..


personally i think their sound is great....the lead singers voice fits the sound perfectly..what i mean by that is, that his vocals dont sound out-of-place.

ive only heard some of the songs off of Frail Worlds Collapse, good sounding band, only thing i dont like is how they are heavy but dont seem to ROCK enough (again, i havent heard everything from them). Too many breakdowns slowing up the aggression. i think if they used more of the drummers d-beat style skills id like them alot more, the guitarist is good and i like the vocals. There are bands that can pull off the "sludgy" breakdowns with perfection, i dont think this is one of them.

I didn't like this band at first, but they have grown on me over time. I wasn't impressed with their last CD. But I may have to get this CD or burn it off someone.

Shadows blows. It is the same song over and over. Frail Words made me love them but its gone slightly down hill. damn fun live show. especially when they opened with 94 hours. MY GOD!

anyone like any good music, like hardcore?

I really only like "Forever". They are a good band and all, just not my taste I guess.

I do like a bit of As I Lay Dying, especially when I'm in the mood.

i like them a lot. currently i think meaning in tragedy is my favorite song by them. they're not exactly hardcore though..metalcore is more accurate.

some people here will eat you alive for calling them hardcore.

They are fun live, but overrated in their importance (and I realize that I used to think different, but I have since matured..sorta)

Forever is definitly fun though.

yeah, theyre definitely fun to see live. i saw them with killswitch engage not too long ago. to be honest i think they might have drawn a bigger crowd. their style of music really gets the crowd going.

i wouldnt necesarily say that "matured" is the right word for that. your taste has just changed.

I LOVE them i prefer other bands over them in this genre but all around they're still good.

i like as i lay dying, after listening to a few of their songs off their first album i've really started to get into them. i also love which is around the same sorta scene as AILD is ''devil sold his soul'', there awesome, from uk and if you havent heard of them there deffinently worth checkingout.

aild is great...i want to see them with unearth and slpknt...confined is a good song...hell they have alot of good songs....forever, 94 hours...good all around band.

One of my favorite bands is As I lay Dying, the video for Confined is how I first heard of them and now I'm hooked. Darkest Nights is probably one of my favorite songs.

No, Shadows Are Security is probably my favorite CD, I listen to them everyday.

Really terrible band. Poorly done breakdowns, generic song structures, generic riffing, generic vocals, over produced MTV faux-metalcore hogwash. I'll pass.

If anybody has the new Caliban cd, listen to the second track and then listen to the first track off of AILD's Shadows Are Security. Its the most obvious ripoff I've ever heard.

They're decent. Songs are kinda repetitive. The drums in 94 Hours are intense, though.

I really like his kick drum tone on the first album too.

Why are you listening to Caliban and As I Lay Dying?

Its not the only thing that I listen to. I can enjoy it once in awhile.

They're alright. Gets kind of boring, though. Songs are fun to play, though.

I have seen them twice and both times they were badass. BUT there songs get old quick since alot of them sound the same...STILL they are pretty good though..Nothing amazing or anything

Frail Words Collapse destroys anything they will ever put out again. These lineup changes they keep making are crap, even my metalcore-head brother doesn't like the new one.

They're like UnderOATH in that sense, they keep adding more and more terrible members.

This might sound dumb but new As I Lay Dying at least has discernible songs. Frail Words Collapse had Forever, Undefined, some mopey song soldiers, and a song with a soft intro, but aside from that I can't tell one song from the next. Even with all those 4 songs that sound a tad bit different only Undefined is really attention grabbing and only because its over before it gets boring.

AILD is ok...I dig a few of there songs but there aren't a whole lot that really stand out...but to the last guy that posted how can you mention Frail Words Collapse and not mention "94 Hours"...that song is INSANE...AILD's best song, some amazing drumming.
