Not a Pretenders fan but really like a few of the singles. This is a perfect pop song (not to mention the video is a tribute to one of my favorite TV shows, The Avengers)

Also, there's a case to be made that her heart-on-sleeve emotionalism in I Go to Sleep works even better than Davies's trademark reserve? Dunno if Marie would agree, but it's a possibility I'm not willing to discount!

-solo artist- Tracy Bonham (has a sort of an alanis morissette feel)

(of course I could also say some riot grrrl bands like bikini kill, lunachicks, babes in toyland, etc. or the obvious ones like Joan Jett, No Doubt, Runaways)

if you haven't heard any of these I would for sure give a listen, they all are grunge/punk esque and I love them all
