Default TomorrowXTogether- Thursday Child

I recently listened to a new album by a group called Tomorrow X Together. The name intrigued me as well as the album art and the album name: Minisode 2:Thursday's Child.

I immediately wondered if the music would be related in any way to the David Bowie song or perhaps the Eartha Kitt autobiography... however I would say not. I researched and it appears they drew inspiration from the nursery rhyme Monday's Child which talks about the children represented by each day of the week. Particularly "Thursday's Child has far to go"... This album is actually a walk through the first breakup of youth- wish this was around a few years ago

The album opens up with Opening Sequence a nice R&B song that hits so perfectly with powerful beats throughout. There are some powerful vocals throughout this song that make it all the more addicting.

Next up is a hard hitting rock-hip-hop song Good Boy Gone Bad that speaks to the anger of that first lost love. Honestly I find myself jamming out really hard to the chorus... and the beginning really gets you hyped up.

Following this is Trust Fund Baby- I thought it was going to be something completely different lol- its a slow ballad I guess its indie-pop if I had to place it somewhere... the vocals of the group are on full display here. The lyrics are lovely as well and pretty out of the box for a breakup song.

Bringing it back up -slightly- with energy is Lonely Boy-- I really, really like this song. Contemporary R&B with a mix of rap and vocalist. The emotions are clear to read in the beats and lyrics of this song. The rap and song go well together.

Lastly a peppy trendy pop-synth song. I love it! Perfect for when you finally pull yourself together I guess. Its appropriately called Thursday's Child has Far to Go... speaks about a breakup glow-up.

Overall, the album is like the five stages of grief however catered to a breakup and I appreciate that as a young person navigating life, relationships, and reality.

Default Rock found in K-pop??

So recently discovered a group Tomorrow X Together

I'm pretty fascinated with their wide usage of genre's however their most recent songs have had a heavy rock influence which I think they do very well. Especially with their vocal skills.

The first is 0X1= Lovesong which I thought I couldn't love more and then discovered the Emocore version it was even better. The next was Lo$er= Lover and that also leaned heavily into the rock genre.

At first I was doubtful if they would really pull such a sound off but they did really well.

Lastly what I'm really excited about this weeek the latest release called Good Boy Gone Bad- it has a slight hip-hop beat but heavy guitar chords and the beginning starts off straight rock.

If you haven't you should check out what they are doing with the genre its pretty cool and I hope it continues beyond the three songs!

Rock and Roll will never die!
