On the CD version with all the extras it does that. But the original vinyl album the commercials go right till the end.

I wouldn't call Townshend THE most ambitious songwriter from the 60s. I'd certainly say he was one of the most progressive songwriters at the time. But he dosen't deserve more credit than Lennon/Mccartney. And lets not forget Wilson, Zappa, Hendrix, Barrett, Fripp and all those guys, Townshend was just one of many ambitious artists from that period.

Arguing over who deserves the most credit is pointless, they all left their mark.

Doesn't look like it. the earliest CD version I can find is the 1995 issue and that has the extra tracks on it.

And he's collaborated with tons of artists sense.

Entwistle is great and all, but I'm tired of everyone saying he is the untouchable god of bass playing. He wasn't THAT much better than JPJ.

Well I did limit it to the UK. In terms of length and quantity of ambitious material, I think there is some justification in saying what I did of Townshend for that particular period, even if his work was far from the best.

Whatever, arguing with you is confusing.

You say The Beatles are your favorite band yet you go out of your way to discredit them for everything. I mean giving George Martin all the credit for their instrumental abilities is pretty extreme.

Actually, their later material was more of a return to the form of music they were making when they started out, it was just more poppy and polished, it was still The Who.

Whos Next is probably my favorite Who album, well either it or Tommy. I know some people hate it because they thought they were selling out. I ****ing hate this kind of logic that anything with poppy melodies that dosen't sound like it was recorded in an outhouse is not "authentic".
