thanks,
Another good album for early Beatles rarities (or pre-Beatlemania songs) is Live at the BBC it has songs they did in their early sets.

I listened to the whole Sgt. Pepper album in a rock poetry class in one sitting, and from the point foward it stood out in my heart. Though I must admit, I haven't heard every album.

I got that one, but i don't think it adds anything to the discography. The Anthology series is the way to go. I consider The Anthology III to have the best versions of the recorded Beatles songs, I even enjoyed Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da!

I like that stuff, I wonder if people would like the earlier Beatle recordings if recording equipment was better quality. They were using 3 track all the way up to Sgt Pepper, while Les Paul was using Ampex 4 track back recorder back in the 50's. (I think Sgt. Pepper was the first album with Dolby) But when you think about it that what made The Beatles so great is that they could do a song (which was recorded live) in a single take. They didn't punch in/out mistakes etc.

I had downloaded the entire discography of The Beatles, I'm thinking of buying the remastered box discography this time. It's a shame not to have any concrete CD of my favorite band. Could be a good present on my Bday [from me to me ].

Please Please Me
Magical Mystery Tour
Abbey Road

I'm playing Please Please Me right now for the first time and I'm not really enjoying it. It doesn't suck I just don't like the style as much. A Hard Day's Night and Beatles for Sale are considerably more enjoyable to me, sad to see Beatles for Sale with 0 votes.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
