I don't think the Eagles ever wrote a consistent album but Hotel California is my preferred one. And Those Shoes is my fav Eagles track... I remember listening to it when I was 7 and revelling in how badass it sounded :D

Antonio 08-06-2010 11:37 PM

Take it Easy is a damn good song and whenever it comes on i'm obligated to blast the hell out of it.

ThreeOhFive 08-15-2010 02:32 AM

There are so many awesome songs! My personal favorite is "Hotel California". But I could go on naming songs I like by them for a long time :)

This is my fave Eagles song.

"After The Thrill Is Gone"

Half the distance takes you twice as long
So you keep on singing for the sake of the song
After the thrill is gone

Necromancer 09-04-2010 02:52 PM

A favorite single off of the Eagles 2007 album, Long Road Out Of Eden, its really more Joe Walsh, than it is the Eagles style of music.

YouTube - Last Good Time In Town

EAGLes!

anyone here an eagle fan?! what your favorite song??! i heard that the eagles sons were rich in meanings and symbols, is that true?!

Howard the Duck 04-18-2012 08:44 AM

not really a fan but i have all their albums

for this kinda stuff, i'm more into Desert Rose Band or Dillard & Clark, I guess

fave song? probably Take it Easy fave album? On the Border

symbolism? i only know Hotel California (song) is about the Church of Satan

ladyislingering 04-18-2012 12:02 PM

Not terribly partial to the Eagles but "One of These Nights" is serious bedroom music.

Key 04-18-2012 05:56 PM

A greatest hits album they released is probably the only Eagles album I would consider favorable.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

I can listen to them, but I won't go out of my way to get their albums or anything.

PeaceJourney 05-13-2012 09:21 AM

My favorite songs from the Eagles are "Doolin' Dalton", "Heartache Tonight", and "I Can't Tell You Why".

All their music is fantastic though.

lightsabertoothtiger 05-15-2012 02:44 PM

Favourite Member: absolutely, without a doubt, Joe Walsh

Favourite Song: Those Shoes

Favourite Album: The Long Run

Itunesucks 05-15-2012 04:05 PM

Fav Member: Joe Walsh

Fav Song: Victim of Love

Fav Album: Hotel Cali

Trollheart 05-25-2012 03:18 PM

Favourite member: Don Henley

Favourite song: Wow, well I love "Desperado", though "There's a train leaves here this morning" is great, and I absolutely love some of the stuff off "Long road out of Eden", like "Waiting in the weeds", the title and the incomparable "No more walks in the woods" (instruments? We don' need no steenking instruments!), then of course there's "Lyin' eyes", "Take it to the limit", the wonderful instrumental "Journey of the sorcerer" (which was used as the theme for the TV series "The hitch-hiker's guide to the galaxy"), all of Hotel California.... nah, impossible to choose. Ask me another question.

Favourite album you say? I think maybe, for sheer (making up words now) comebackability, "Long road of out Eden", though it's a close run thing between that and "Hotel California". And "Desperado".

I'm going to stop writing now... :)

MichaelForbes 06-26-2012 09:38 PM

For me, it's gotta be "One of These Nights." There's just something hot about
that song. Combine Don Henley's lead vocal, with the lyrics and beat, and to me, it's The Eagles at their best.

Unknown Soldier 06-27-2012 03:45 AM

I'm amazed that so many people pick Joe Walsh on here, I think when he joined the Eagles the world of rock lost a unique talent in its own right doing his own thing either solo or with the James Gang, in the Eagles he just played second fiddle to Henley and Frey.

Forward To Death 06-27-2012 04:27 AM

Come on man, I had a rough night and I hate the ****in' Eagles man!

For me my favorite singer: Timothy B. Schmit

Favorite Album: Hell Freezes Over

Seconded.

Unknown Soldier 07-05-2012 03:55 PM

What's amazing, is that it's probably one of the few songs he ever sung with the Eagles.

I have to strongly disagree.

He didn't stop doing solo work.

In fact, Walsh only did 2 records with the Eagles before the "reunion". In between Hotel California and the Long Run , he released his biggest hit "Life's Been Good" on arguably his most popular album "But Seriously Folks". His stint with The Eagles did not hinder Mr. Walsh's solo output at all.

As for the OP:

Bernie Leadon
Tossup between On the Border/Desperado
Already Gone

But Seriously Folks is a good album, but I don't think it had the same levels as Barnstorm an absolute classic and The Smoker the Player, The Drinker You Get.

The actual point I was making, is that when people think of Joe Walsh they think of the Eagles first and then his solo stuff etc. The rest of Joe Walsh's discography is really just known by fans of his.

cozypowellsdrumkit 08-18-2012 10:43 PM

Desperado
Life in the Fast Lane
Heartache Tonight
Witchy Woman
One of these Nights
Hotel California
Lyin' Eyes
In the City
Take It Easy

heresjohnny217 08-19-2012 01:45 AM

1. One of These Nights (I get chills every time I hear the opening 30 seconds)
2. Life In The Fast Lane
3. New Kid In Town
4. Victim Of Love
5. Those Shoes

GREAT BAND! Would make my "Top 10" List with ease

cozypowellsdrumkit 08-19-2012 07:30 PM

I think it is The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get.

The Smoker You Drink-was released in 1973. I liked Rocky Mountain Way the song. I like Life's Been Good To Me So Far. Ordinary Average Guy.(I love that. Reminds me of me.)
My favorite title of a Walsh LP? You Can't Argue With A Sick Mind.

cozypowellsdrumkit 08-19-2012 07:36 PM

Damn it.
I forgot Victim of Love and Those Shoes.:bonkhead:

Tequila Sunrise is a good one. I also didnt see Peaceful Easy Feeling. I always like the mellower Eagles stuff myself. Good harmonies and great musicians.
