Thanks! I'd still love to be able to have it if you don't mind sending it though.

Rubber Soul got me into the Fab Four, so maybe you should check that out first!

So far, people have been nice enough to send me the following:

  • Abbey Road
  • Revolver
  • Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
  • Rubber Soul

I'm not going to be able to start writing the reviews until the weekend, but I will do them in the order received. Please feel to continue sending anything you think I'd like. I will write a review of anything I get.

Thanks to everyone who sent me these! :)

I can send you the other ones I have: Let It Be, Magical Mystery Tour, Help!, Abbey Road… I think that's all I have left in my digital collection. Can't start uploading until later today so you'll have to sit tight :D

Edit: oops, I see you have Abbey Road already. Sorry!

Magical Mystery Tour is the ideal Beatles album, that's the one that got me to love them.

Octopus' Garden is probably my favorite track on there. Excellent track. Puts me in a good mood and its typically a good choice to get stoned or listen to while high on acid.

I actually really enjoy Octopus' Garden as well. I've got a soft spot for the Ringo tracks.

For years I felt I walked around as a phony Beatles fan. I mildly enjoyed their music, but could never honestly say I was a fan. At one point I hit a huge 60's psych phase and decided to give the Beatles another try (like you are now, Jans). The album that converted me was Revolver, hands down. It's got enough of the Beatles' pop sensibility along with the psych vibe that was starting to pick up around that time that it creates this VERY addicting album. It's still the Beatles album I reach for when I feel like listening to them. It helped me appreciate their other albums as well, but since I had heard all those songs countless times I gotta say I'm a bit tired of Sgt. Peppers/Abbey Road/Let It Be. I can still enjoy Magical Mystery Tour and the White Album from time to time, though.

Since someone already sent Revolver to you, I won't send it...but I have a good feeling that will be the album that converts you.

I was just like you, pretty much. I grew up with the Beatles' music because my parents are fans, but the album that really got me into them and thinking critically about their music was Revolver. I really think it is their most complete album - it touches pretty much every angle approached by their earlier work and by their later work, at the same time. Just like you said, "It's got enough of the Beatles' pop sensibility along with the psych vibe that was starting to pick up around that time". That statement alone sums up this album for me.

Janszoon, if Revolver doesn't convince you, there's something wrong ;)

I'll re-upload the White Album (and also the Beach Boys albums) tonight, Janszoon. Sorry I goofed in understanding the MediaFire restrictions. :o:
