Your question really doesn't deserve an answer to be honest. But I will play along just this once. "It takes a lot of effort mentally and physically, in order to complete basic training in the service, let alone becoming a (Screaming Eagle) paratrooper. It also takes a lot of character to wear the patch of the 101 Airborne division". Sound judgment not based on specialized knowledge, is usually common sense.

Fair enough..being both fans of Hendrix ill leave it at that. Its amazing what you can accomplish when the thought of prison is hanging over your head is all I was saying. Didnt know if the motivation for the decision to join was being misconstrued. However reports indicate in bio pic's ive watched of how he needed constant supervision and upon injuring his ankle. They jumped at the chance to discharge him. Honorably of coarse. So yes the Legend was a man of great character and rebelious tendicies all rolled into one. Personally I like the rebelious nature better than the honorable mentions. Either way I give respect for all his accomolishments. Honorable and even for the things that most would deem not.

Hendrix was the musician that made me go "Whoaa...dude..." back when I was younger. He really did amazing things with that guitar of his, and of course I wouldn't want anything more than to try and emulate him. I wouldn't say he really influenced me, musically (once you learn his riffs and your favorite songs, time to move on), but he definitely was the reason I picked up a guitar (well and Dylan of course).

I find I listen to more of his other albums more than Are You Experienced? and Axis. The Blues album is absolutely fantastic in my opinion though, and one of my favorite songs by him would have to be his version of Born Under A Bad Sign.

My favorite song would have to be "All along the watchtower."

That's a tough one man, there are so many songs on different albums by him. Are we counting band of Gypsy's too? If its just the experience, "Manic Depression" " Easy Rider" " Dolly Dagger" " Machine Gun " " Freedom " " Crosstown Traffic " and " Spanish Castle Magic " come to mind.

Back in the 70s I played in two bands and managed a third in Northeast PA. After the bands broke up I moved to San Diego, and two of the members of the band I managed, Robbie Walsh and Joe Shorten, went on to form a band with Noel Redding called Noel Redding's Secret Freaks (there are some crude videos on YouTube). A couple of years ago I moved back to PA, looked Robbie up, and found him teaching guitar at a music studio. He invited me to a show and I accepted, expecting to hear him play with a local group. Instead, I found myself at a recital where a dozen 8 to 16-year-olds performed one Hendrix song after another. Robbie assured me that he was doing more than building an army of Hendrix clones, but that the interest in Jimi hasn't dropped off at all in the 20 years that he has been teaching.
