Springsteen has a couple of good songs its just the fact Springsteen is rated over someone like Bryan Adams for instance, who in my opinion is twice the song writer and artist in comparison.

Troll or not, I want to make sure any credibility you might have had is buried. And with an agreement from US, the troll is confirmed. |

I'm gonna blast Heaven right now and sing along. "Baby your all that I want when your lying here in my arms!!!!!" :drummer: |
I have no interest in ever listening to either artist in my life again, but Neil Young wins for me.
|
I don't understand the choice of Neil Young vs. Bruce Springsteen. The two artists are completely different stylistically and have very little in common except they both began their careers in the early 70s.

I love Nebraska... Truly I do, and that is all I like to hear from the boss.... That is it though, anything past that and I can't do it... I dunno why I just can't go there...
I love me some Neil all day everyday though... |

Neil Young

I love the Nebraska fans. They pick the album closest to Neil Young. Just admit you like the style, and half the English speaking world isn't crazy.
|
Neil Young by a long shot. I like him best in Buffalo Springfield and CSNY, though.
|
Neil Young is one guy I just don't get. Sounds like Kermit the Frog.
Springsteen all the way. Well, when he gets out of the middle of the road, anyway. |
Neil Young, of course!
Probably it's 'cause my older brother has been bumping Bruce Springsteen ALL THE TIME since I was a kid, but actually I find the boss quite flavourless |
Neil Young
|
Neil Young , by far
|
On the Beach, Tonight's the Night, Zuma, Rust Never Sleeps, Time Fades Away and to a lesser extent After the Gold Rush, This Note's For You, Comes a Time, and Everybody Knows This is Nowhere are all great albums. In fact, I'd say that despite being really inconsistent, Neil Young is prolific enough that he might have fifteen or sixteen albums I really like. But I still had to pick Springsteen for his run of four flawless albums from Born to Run through Nebraska.
(Side note - these are my dad's two favorite artists.) |

Neil Young all the way, Powder-finger and Cinnamon Girl tyeaaaaaaa

When Springsteen began releasing albums, he was fresh and exciting to listen to and I can't really explain it but it felt good to listen. I had to go with Neil Young, simply because he's constantly reinventing his music and he's willing to go out on a limb to stay fresh. Not that all of those experiments have worked in my opinion, but i have many more young Albums then Springsteen.

No Bob Dylan, no Neil Young.
No Neil Young, no Bruce Springsteen. As least as far as socially conscious songs based on a single strummed acoustic with a neck harmonica strapped on. http://cwallpapers.mobi/wp-content/u...llpapers-4.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Lt76AJ-pDZ...harvesters.jpg http://media.salon.com/2014/11/bruce_springsteen3.jpg |
Bruce is a better song writer than a performer to me, the song he wrote for Dave Edmunds "From Small Things (Big Things One Day Come)" and the song he wrote for Elvis and then Robert Gordon "Fire" are both better songs than anything I've heard him put out. "Growin' Up" and "Atlantic City" are probably the coolest things I've heard from him. I still like him way more than Neil Young, although he has some good songs too. "Journey Through the Past" is a good song.
|
I can't think of any Springsteen song i actually like so i pick Neil. im not really that familiar with his career but i do like a couple of songs from him.

I'm gonna go the unpopular route and say Bruce. Bruce is something I liked the first time I heard him. It took a while to get into Neil.
|
I own the complete studio album/primary live album/etc. discographies of both, so I do like Springsteen, but Young very easily wins this for me. Neil Young is a top 20 artist for me. Springsteen probably wouldn't be above #250 or so.

That seems a little unbelievable to me. |
My name is thebarefootgirl, so Bruce gets my vote.

I consider myself a fan of well over 1,000 artists, and I've owned over 15,000 albums, not including stuff that I only have via downloads (which I also have a $h|^load of at this point), and not including hundreds of bootlegs I've owned only on cassette copies, etc. I'm not young, and I'm a bit OCDish when it comes to collecting stuff I like. |
Both these artists are in my all-time top 10, in which I normally do a 500 updated every 3-4 years or so. Currently Springsteen is at No.4, Young at No.9 for what it's worth...
Both are legendary songwriters but I'm going with Bruce simply because his live shows are unparalleled. Young's tend to be rather erratic. |
I really couldn't vote. Both have done some brilliant material, both are extremely inconsistent, but their music is so different that it seems a very odd pairing for a poll.
For the record, I have only one Springsteen album (The Rising) and no Neil Young albums, though I do have Deja Vu and I think his contribution to that is one of the high points. |
Neil has done a lot of crap but takes this easily nevertheless.
|
I only voted Bruce because I saw him live and he performed very well...I'm sure Neil is quite the show, too, but to be honest, I dislike both of them...The only reason I saw Bruce live is because my girlfriend's mom is a die hard fan, and she had an extra ticket. It gave me an excuse to drink far too much.

Neil can write acoustic numbers of timeless beauty-' Old Man', 'The Needle and the Damage done', 'The Old Laughing Lady' etc etc and then come out with stuff like 'Hurricane' 'Words' and 'Rust Never Sleeps'
Bruce has some moving songs and a few rockers but his output pales in comparison to the Canadian imo. |
Wow! I'm surprised Neil is leading in the poll. Like Neil say's, " Hey, Hey, My, My Rock is here to stay"......Out of the Blue, into the Black...
