The White Album sessions produced one of The Beatles most popular singles, "Hey Jude/Revolution." The Beatles did not release a single from The White Album, yet it did extremely well in the sales charts depute some negative media reviews. It was a very popular album in 1968, and still remains a popular album. Capitol did release Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da as a single in mid-70's, but it didn't do very well in the charts.

annapurna,
Thank you, it's a breathe of fresh air to read something insightful and yet honest & objective. Some people around here, I won't mention any names, want to make The Beatles aka The White album out to be like it was a Death Metal album put out by The Wiggles.

Now you're bringing up a comparison to BB King, what I'm confused???

Wha'? huh? Ob La Di Ob La Da was The Beatles were the first band to do Raggae/Ska and that's way before The Clash ever did - so stick that in you rastafarian hat.

I brought that song to demonstrate a point and you concur by saying "He had an Ace in the Hole with that one."

And now I'm going to quote myself:

I was trying to point out that they were other times that Beatles fans were disappointed, and the best thing you could say was:

In no way is Submarine a de-evolution, You may not like Submarine, but every The Beatles did isn't more and more inferior then the previous thing they did before. For something to de-evovle it must continualy keep changing into a inferior form - kinda like your posts. The Beatles still wrote a bunch of songs before, during, and after Submarine.
Most people find Yellow Submarine is more watchable then Magical Mystery Tour. So that is a evolution from Magical Mystery Tour. Anyway The Beatles had very little invovlement in making the movie. It had sone great songs like Only Nothern Song, and Hey Bull Dog.

They were sick of each other, and I'm not taking sides. Hey, that happens to the best of friends, anyway May Pang said John Lennon did entertain his ol' bandmate when they were in California. So yeah he did have an interest...

I stayed up all night trying to find out what "ready what I wrote" meant.

I feel pretty ****ty making a typo and keeping Neo up all-night. I feel so bad that I'd like to make it up to everyone by playing a Stones song.

I gotta say, I was expecting the Beatles to take this one. I just think that they went more places with their music. Not to mention, I always thought that Mick Jagger was a total ponce. That, and I've never been much for a band that wrote songs about parading their excesses.

My vote goes to the Beatles. I know I'm outnumbered. I don't care.

This is the first music forum discussion I've ever seen with so much stones love, normally the beatles would walk with it. But not here for some weird reason.

I have to agree though, my vote went to the Beatles a few pages back, like you said, they just went more places with their music. The stones have pretty much gotten by playing the same crap for 40 years.

I think The Beatles would walk away with it if the Rolling Sotnes weren't given a billion point lead, for some weird reason. I wonder if the real score is The Beatles 58 The Rolling Stones 50??
