Maybe he/she created it to give minimal appreciation to the fairly unrecognized musician who's been constantly dwarfed behind Jim Morrison's shadow, even though Ray can be attributed to the sound that made the Doors popular.

I thoroughly enjoy Ray Manzerak's unique keyboard stylings. I even enjoyed hearing The Doors of the 21st Century. But, last night I read a fiction short story he wrote in a book called Carved in Rock, and it wasn't up to the talent level I've come to expect from him.

For me, Ray Manzarek`s imput was the key element that made the Doors` sound special. It was smooth and sinister at the same time, or as Jim himself said, "...soft-driven, slow and mad like some new language."

Here is RM making it all look really easy. What impresses me about this clip is the way he`s not trying to impress anyone at all. On the contrary, he deliberately shows himself to`ve been just an ordinary kid like anyone else.

Does anyone have any recommendations about Ray`s solo work, BTW ?
