Yes they were over hyped, but you did say they were "too much of a girls obsession than serious musicians", they may have started off with some crappy run of the mill songs, but they were actually brilliant at what they did, as a group and as individuals who attracted alot more than purely a screaming teen audience.

I also seem to remember that Robert Plant couldn't sing a song without getting his top off! Attempting to atract the females,i guess that put's a downside on his talents?

umm. no. I dont think that the fact that girls went crazy over them in any way shape or form affects their artist ability, the british invasion just got a little boring to me thats all.
