To me, Child In Time easily has the most interesting music and the best vocal performance of the two. I don't outright hate Zep, but I can't say they do anything for me either.

Easily Stairway. Deep Purple in general has always just felt like filler to me.

Except Stairway backwards really does say that **** about the tool shed.

Can you explain me this because I don't get it?

When artists want to push out one or more songs but don't have enough enough for a whole album, they'll record a few songs to fill the space. Deep Purple often sounds like filler from a more interesting band's album. I'll give them their dues for their monumental significance in music history all day but they're not anything that I want to listen to.

Ironically enough, some of their self-confessed filler songs turned into big hits.

These 2 songs aren't even remotely similar except for the instruments used.
