Odessey and Oracle!

You don’t just listen to a record like that and shrug I don’t get it and move on. It’s already there now. In fact, it was you and bat that let that genie out of the bottle. Now it’s gotta be dealt with. I would’ve waited. |

Well, I don't understand half of the things you're saying while you discuss, but anyway, I'm doubting between chosing Odessey and Oracle or Are You Experienced (this one because I'm already familiar to it). So if you could please tell me, I'll be very grateful.

No matter what anyone else says here (and I know what they'll all say) as you're a fan of Genesis I'm gonna rec my second-favourite band. The rest of you can all suck my d - er thumb. (Cr - ah, crumbs, it's annoying that we have to watch what we say now that there's a kid in the room...) ;)
or for more modern Marillion I can steer you towards good prog bands if you're interested. Oh and if you like Marillion try Fish's solo work too. |
Unless those teachers are native English speakers I'll bet they have accents too. And native English speakers have all kinds of accents so as long you can be understood or are speaking to an ******* then it doesn't matter.

I've got a question. There're 2 old famous bands, from which I've only heard 1 song and I'd like to know what do you think about them. I'm talking about Badfinger and ELO (Electric Light Orchestra). |

I don't think I've heard a single song from either of those bands actually. I've heard of ELO, I should give them a listen I guess
|

And from Badfinger I've heard Baby Blue and also that the 2 main songwriter killed themselves being very young. |
Quote:
In my opinion, Ms. Rigby, Badfinger is an unrewarding rabbit hole. ELO on the other hand have lots of great songs. I only knew their hits until we got into a big discussion about them on here a couple years back and I was very surprised by how much more they had to offer. https://www.musicbanter.com/prog-psy...orchestra.html Trollheart (who posted above) and Ori are our go-to experts. |

I agree that Baby Blue only shines during the chorus. I was asking because The Beatles had said wonderful things about them, Paul McCartney had even written a song for them and produced it, but they had a tragic ending, that seemed strange to me. And I thought ELO was the band of Olivia Newton-John (Xanadu) lol I'll probably listen to them, they seem to be catchy but interesting at the same time, and they don't seem to be ultra experimental. |
