Believe or not, drums do have a tone, just not a sustained one. It's a collection of frequencies and harmonics just as much as a piano or a guitar.

Their earlier stuff is more psychedelic/shoegaze and kind of pop rock. Their newer tunes seem to be a little less organic sounding and since dropping off of Capitol they've lost a lot of recognition....
