Smooth jazz to me is more pop, r&b with jazzy melodies on top of it. They took the hit cover songs and flipped it with a jazzy feel. 3 artist I enjoy are piano players, David Benoit, Brian Culbertson...

You might wannt to try Sound Click also. I've found alot of good artist there. One by the name of Phil Casagrande who did a great rendition of Amazing Grace.
