I saw a quartet play a multi-media version of the Helikopter Streichquartett at Juilliard once. It was really cool. Their name was the Nonamé string quartet.

the Bach solo sonatas and partitas, the Ysaye solo sonatas, and the 24 Paganini Caprices are probably the most-played...but there are lots of modern and contemporary pieces, too.
