I'm not sure who you're speaking for when you say "the Americans", but in my school they taught us just as much about the eastern front and the Soviets' contribution as they did the western front....

I thought the Soviets played a more defensive game in WW2 than an offensive? I don't really have an extensive knowledge of WW2 but if not for their blistering cold weather, they would've lost...
