Speaking of emotion - I think Paul McCartney of the Beatles has got it right. He has been accused of writing Silly Love Songs (aka: Granny songs) but, in my opinion, that's where the money is. After all, love makes the world go 'round.

Looking at McCartney’s own track record, Silly Love Songs isn’t a good song. Yes, it made a lot of $, but Paul and many others have proven you can write about love or anything else in a more intelligent manner and yes, make money. It doesn’t always have to involve writing the most simplistic and obvious song just to make money.
