Use the standard pop song structure and the chorus wont get too long or boring. Just when people are sick of a verse - then in comes the chorus. This is the foundation of songs for hundreds of years.

Verse
Chorus
Verse
Chorus
Bridge
Solo or instrumental
Verse
Chorus
Chorus

Can I get 10 internets for knowing the reference? Or is it only the first person?

Also, songs shouldn't be elongated. They are as long as they need to be, period.

just add unnecessary bridges/pre-choruses/pre-verses/instrumentals/interludes/breaks, it's what i do when i want my song to be longer! :3

Write really, really slow songs.
