Uhm.

I liked your work.

Rhyming shouldn't matter.

It fits some people, it doesn't fit others.

If you like it, so be it.

I like the comment on writing lyrics to fit music. That is always a priority for me, although my lyrics must make sense and center around a general idea. I don't like how alot of bands fit words in just to rhyme or make it smooth, especially if the words have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

I would have probably left my post at "I write lyrics for music", but I do agree with the stereotypical comments. I don't see anything in these lyrics that imply that the writer is an anarchist, even if the genre has common themes such as anarchy and rebellion. Let's not forget, Metal was influenced by CLASSICAL music.

Edit: Also, lyrics don't have to be amazingly inspirational and thoughtful. That's how I would personally prefer alot of them, however.
Good music can be made with the simplest of words, and a band often falls apart when they try to complicate a simple subject with complex lyrics. Others can make great music doing just the opposite, and make a bland subject stand out with a combination of guitar riffs and a storytelling aspect to well thought out lyrics.

Not trying to step on anyone's toes, but there should really be a poetry section of this site that is seperate from songwriting.
Let the poets judge the poetry, and the musicians judge the music and lyrics. And I don't want some smartass reply about "poems are lyrics", because they're not. If you recite words without singing, it is not singing.....therefore, not musical.
I'd also like to hear more people record their songs, unless you're like me and can't really play for ****.

Just throwin' my two cents in there.

I really don't have a problem with people disliking something that I've written or even going as far as to say, "This **** sucks." That's fine. One thing that I can't stand though is to be told what I am or what I'm "trying" to be. That's where I draw the line. Maybe now you'll understand.

I didn't say you were an anarchist. I simply said, "Anarchists don't rhyme like that." It's my sense of humor. It's rarely gotten, that's why it amuses me, because it causes **** like this. Now maybe you'll understand.

And ace, I agree with you, there should be a sub forum of poetry or something... lyrics are not the same as poetry, the two works have different agendas entirely.

It was well-written. Did you have a certain genre of music in mind for these lyrics?
It was the only thing that I found out of place too...otherwise you have some great imagry here other that 'pedohile' -- I understand why you are using it...and it has impact...but I am not sure of the 'right' impact...

You have talent and this was enjoyable aside from the little wrinkle in tone/parlance.

I understand completely. I used it because I thought it was fitting and also because I haven't heard anything like that anywhere else in any genre(there's probably a good reason for that. lol.) I kinda like those lines personally. Like I said, I've had mixed reactions. I appreciate the comments though.
