I've got big plans for my bandcamp this year but to give you guys a short sneak peek, I'm retiring the SNZZZOV*EN label probably for good as I focus on trying to start up me and Ian's cassette label (maybe I'll make a blog for that at some point?). I'm instead reverting to doing projects under the No Curfew Kids label and focusing more on making far less memetic music. For this year, I have a few projected albums with ideas I'm trying my hardest to put together:
1. No Curfew Kids - Voices of animals and people, Shouts, Screams, Shrieks, Wails, Hoots, Howls, Death rattles, Sobs This is going to be a highly personal and self-reflective album that kind of sums up my life through noise and glitched out classical instrumentation in the best way I know how to. Idk if it's fun to listen to as an outsider but I've made sure it's my best produced noise album so far. 2. MC Trustan - Tristianity I'm not entirely throwing out the memes but I just wanna put this one last album out. It's straight up industrial christian hip hop and it's definitely a steaming pile of shit. 3. Jesus Nails - Untitled 2nd album A therapeutic album for my guitarist, we're adding synth into the mix and dialing back the noise a lot to make a dense darkwave/dark ambient/industrial rock release with existential and utilitarian musings on top. I'm planning on doing an industrial cover of Bizarre Love Triangle when we perform live as Jesus Nails. 4. No Curfew Kids - The Dreaming God Me on drums, Jake on guitar, another drummer, all of us on vocals. It's a full out noisecore/screamo album that we're gonna make once Jake's arm is up to it. 5. No Curfew Kids - Here's to Dying Early There's no way I'm gonna make this this year but I'm going to spend a whole lot of time perfecting this album and it's gonna be great. I envision it to sound kinda like Disco Inferno but like more emo. 6. Toasted Roaches - 2nd album Anytime I'm free buddy I wanna keep at it and try for larger things. I also redesigned my page https://nocurfewkids.bandcamp.com/

Probably a ****ty way to come back to the site, after faking a come back a month or two ago, but I finished my debut single as an artist. You guys have always been great critics, so I thought I would share!
Any thoughts would be most appreciated. I spent a lot of time on this one. Its also on my soundcloud and bandcamp which are linked in the vid. The visualizer was made by friend I met here at college.

My entire first album:
https://soundcloud.com/micshazam/set...-distant-stars PS: The cover artwork is missing because I need to find it somewhere. It wasn't anywhere online for a long time since I deleted all my music on youtube some months ago. I don't think anyone on MB has ever heard the whole thing. The tracks on this thing were all composed between 2001 and 2009, with a strong leaning towards the early side of that spectrum. I think I did ok, considering that I knew **** all about writing music. I still get a trip out of coming back to this creaky old thing once in a while. I wonder what everyone elses first full album was? Doesn't matter how terrible it was - I still wanna check it out if you got it online or can put it up. |

^Still trying to listen to the above but it's hurting my ear holes! Doesn't necessarily mean that I think it's bad.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unrelated: I toyed around again with the cover for the track I finished yesterday. Wanted to make it look a bit more 80's, without looking like an 80's cliché. I want to make a whole album in this style, hence the cover. This track is all I have for now. I've got a full back cover with a complete track list as well, despite the fact that only track #1 exists yet. Got a bit carried away... Would love to get some feedback - positive or negative. I genuinely tried to make something cool. Is it at least better than the previous one I made? (New version here with a couple changes no one but me will be able to detect or care about.) |
