Songs by Me - thoughts/opinions?
Hey guys. I have a bunch of songs but I doubt any of them are anything great. I thought I'd share them & see what you all think though! This first one is one is from a song I wrote a few weeks ago. I'm playing the melody/words of it on piano. But I never really did anything with it because I didn't know if it was any good... let me know what you think!.
(I've Heard Enough) About Your Great Big Dreams about your great big dreams (original) - YouTube Ok and for this next one I'll tell you in advance I suck at singing. I came up with this the first day I got a guitar about a month ago so I'm pretty much just strumming random chords I have no idea what... Which is why I've never played it again. My friend recorded me playing it once after coming up with it on the spot. Oh and it isn't about anything really - I just wanted it to rhyme. Rainy Saturday....love the refrain and the strumming...
Strumming on the guitar is the fundamental basic to learning guitar playing so keep at it. You're new and learning? Not a bad jam session! HINT though: TUNE your axe...I can't tell if its down-tuned or just out of tune but something is off. Last critique: You have TALENT! I think the main thing I hear when you play piano or guitar is your happiness. It really comes through. |

& yeah it was definitely out of tune when that was recorded but I've since then tuned it, haha. I'm still learning and can play some really easy acoustic songs (ex. Wonderwall) and I have a few more I've written but yeah I'm definitely having a lot of fun learning! & you got the chorus about right on the other one.. It went something like, "Well I've heard quite enough about your great big dreams, you shouldn't paint an illusion on it... Why don'tcha loan me your car, and yeah we'll drive really far, and we'll see what becomes of it!" If I can figure out guitar chords of it maybe one of these days I'll turn it into a decent song and have a friend sing that melody over it...haha. |
