I think 2 color changes would have changed the whole thing.

3rd line. "And the red light ring"
6th from the bottom. "Green ... off"

Then it becomes a homeless man chancing to speak to a girl for a moment.

Its about dodging an oncoming train and sleeping under a brick building next to a junkie couple. But eh. SF trains have yellow lights and the bricks were orange.
