No, not really
I’ve never really listened to the Ramones, much less to their lyrics - so I wouldn’t know what they’d be supposed to be like

That’s an interesting take. To me this was just a try at making those cringy lyrics xD

For example, who gets tapes? Will they have a price and what's the goal of that? Is tape the only medium or is this going up on streaming? If you send him a master, do you get any guarantee that he won't just publish it - without your input and however/whenever he likes to - in the future on one of his bootlegs? He wants to make tapes/product and add to his catalogue, but how are your interests protected in any way?
Aren’t you taking this a bit to seriously? I mean it’s not like someone’s gonna become a millionaire by selling this compilation. Also, you don’t have to submit your greatest tracks that you think will make a Star out of you.

You gotta have more trust in people, do you think Tristan is trying to scam you out of your copyrights?

If you consider yourself a musician and make music that you are proud of, then I think whose hands it ends up in and how it is treated and published is definitely one of those things you should be serious about.

I don't think I'm overly serious about it, but serious enough that I don't quite trust Tristan after he gave me just about the worst possible answer to my honest question earlier. Think about it. Once you render your mix to a wav-file and send it to someone, they now have control of your intellectual property and can copy it as much as they want. If it turns out people actually like it, they can keep publishing it and you may not ever know about it or see a dime. Hence, the person who asks for people to send him/her music should at least realize that they're asking a lot and so make a little bit of an attempt to demonstrate trustworthiness.

Yeah you're definitely taking it too seriously dawg. Zero people outside of MB will ever hear this.

Weren't you the one who said mods shouldn't make jokes about banning people or abusing their mod powers because mods should set a higher standard? On an internet forum?

For the track I had in mind, as explained, I'm also representing two other guys whom I run a label with. It's a cover of one of their songs. We intend to publish it on our own label as a single.

They don't know what MB is or who Tristan is and it's gonna look pretty weird if I tell them I also handed our product over to this guy who I don't know who told me he wants to make bootleg cassettes.

Maybe that clarifies things a bit?

But no worries, because I got my answer and simply won't be doing that. If I turn something in, it'll be something I care much less about.

Edit:

Also, if noone outside MB are gonna hear it, why publish it on cassettes through some own label? Why not just collect mp3s and make a zip?

Yes. Like your boss shouldn't make jokes about firing you. I mean, it can be really funny, but as a general guideline it might be best not to.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Mods are not bosses and do not have any financial control over you. Weirdo.
