I have to say that title track aside, I was a little disappointed in the album Maggot Brain. Maybe I should give it another listen.

Yeah I have the same opinion on that album. I find One Nation Under a Groove to be superior.

2 clips of the original Parliaments/Funkadelic from 1969.
This is rare footage where thay ask in the second clip, "Mommy what's a Funkadlelic"

Moi aussi, I genuinely think it's overrated as much as I thought I was going to be blown away. I have an old Funkadelic collection on CD which would seem to indicate they got better later on, but the preceding record Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow is superior aswell IMO.

On top of that I probably prefer the Parliament stuff overall, their early albums are deliberately more r'n'b-based but albums like Mothership Connection and Funkentelechy vs. the Placebo Syndrome are just as concept-trippy as anything Funkadelic had to offer... Not to mention better-produced and more accomplished.

Still - you can't argue with Eddie Hazel on geetar.

Bootsy baby.

Being a bass player myself, I have to say, Bootsy is the shizzle snap. Pop Dopple.
