'War'- Edwin Starr

'Ball Of Confusion'- The Temptations

'For The Love Of Money'- The O' Jays

'What's Going On?'- Marvin Gaye

'Superstition'- Stevie Wonder

'Chocolate City'- Parliament

I prefer when the soul ROCKED! 1970-1973 were pivotal years in soul music at the time, in my opinion. :cool:

Ahhh mannnn, best of the 60's/70's?
I could go DEEEEEP here....but since I'm a newbie, I'll work my way up respectfully.

Rather than go with the obvious, I'll start off with the small/mid-level labels along with classic artists/groups such as;

Fantasy Records- Side Effects (Always There)//Pleasure (Bouncy Lady)//The BlackByrds (Rock Creek Park; BlackByrds Theme)

Warner Bros- Tower of Power (What Is Hip)

Polydor- James Brown (Sex Machine; I could go on....)

Tamla- Eddie Kendricks (Girl You Need A Change of Mind)

Original Records- Dike & The Blazers (Let a Woman Be a Woman & Let a Man Be a Man....) [a record sampled many times by both rap groups & today artists- check it out on YouTube]

I'll stop here & continue in the future.....thanks!
