Does anyone know what year or anything else about the footage? Any info on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To which year are you referring? Brown played the Apollo many times. The most legendary concert is probably the one from '63. There only exists an audio track of that date - so far.

Thanks very much for replying. The only info that I got was of a concert filmed at the Apollo Theater that was destroyed in the fire.

It,s hard to believe that the JB concerts at Newport Jazz Festival 1969, The Westbury Music Festival 1972 were not filmed.

Man, I would give my right arm for a Live In Augusta Ga film of THAT concert!

We can only hope that more rare JB video concerts surfaces!

Thanks for mentioning it. I got it as soon as I found it was available! I have many JB clips and concerts collected over the past 25 years!

As to the live Apollo film concert that was destroyed in a warehouse that held many on JB,s memorabilia, I just wondered and hoped that someone would know any info on it.

All I know is that it was supposed to be an unreleased JB concert film. I have a catalog of JB memorabilia that was auctioned some years ago,but the auction didn,t even net $1 million for the items tha were sold.

Hopefully in the future more JB concert footage will surface!

I was listening to some Australian hip hop - Bliss N Eso's song 'send it.' They sampled a James Brown track where he says, "I came here to get you off. I came here to lose it." Anyone know the name and other James Brown songs like that? I don't usually listen to James Brown but I really liked that one.

Attention all JB and funk music fans! A new 4 part documentary about James Brown will be released in 2023! Produced by Questlove and Mick Jagger I believe. It will feature interviews by JB band members and others as well as never before seen footage!

I have read the biographies of Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker, and Marva Whitney. There were conflicting reports of what they got paid; such as a weekly salary which included sessions recording and rehearsals.

Clyde Stubblefield said that he never received any money for recording sessions. Fred Wesley stated in his book the same, except he once told JB the band wanted to get paid for prior recording sessions before they did that one.

JB,s response was he fired Fred on the spot. Fred sat on the bus for roughly an hour until JB sent for him. He said he never asked for anyone,s pay ever again. JB cheated them out of thousands and did not treat the band right.

I could not understand why some of the gigs were 500-700 mile jumps to the next one. Imagine traveling on a bus after you finished a gig and maybe arriving in time to the next to get ready for it.

A woman claims James Brown was murdered and has given potential evidence to prosecutors. It’s since disappeared

In the movie "Blazing Saddles" Cleavon Little rode past Count Basie and his Orchestra. JB trombone player Fred Wesley played for Count Basie for a time. If you look at the three trombone players on the right of the screen when Cleavon rides past, the guy to the far left looks like Fred. Can anyone confirm this?

Does anyone know when Questlove,s 4-part JB documentary will be released this year? I thought it was to be released May 2023 (JB,s birthday month) but I haven,t found any info on it. Any help will be greatly appreciated
