Yeah, that's a good one. Though if I had to pick just one favorite song by the band, it would be this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xN_3nib4r3Y |
The warmth of recording on tape and cutting records back in the day is underrated. EWF has many bangers.

Lee Moses - If Loving You Is A Crime (I'll Always Be Guilty)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_zMZvfQGAQ I first heard this record on a 45 I still have somewhere. I was watching a parade at a festival in a small town in Southern Ohio. IRRC, I wasn't even 10 years old at the time. One of the local radio stations had a float in the parade. The people on the float were tossing 45s into the crowd and I caught this one (pre-internet, computerized programming and even CDs, kids). It's great that the song is available online all these years later. |
Can you guys recommend smooth, silky, buttery, schmaltzy, sugary R&B/Soul with rich, complex, unpredictable harmonies and melodies?

Hey Clefsong51: If you see this, you're the resident soul/R&B expert. Do you have some recommendations for our new member? |
Paul Kelly - Stealing In The Name Of The Lord
Hit from 1970 originally released on the defunct Happy Tiger Records, a label with an interesting history. This Paul Kelly is the American R&B/soul singer, not the Paul Kelly from Australia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Gii...&start_radio=1 |
