Yes, agree fantastic tight rhythm section and sooooo funky! Do you know Right place time by Dr. John. They played backing on that and you can hear their funky grooves their too. Also their producer Allen Toussaint should be mentioned, as he produced most of their major releases, including the Dr. John track. He also produced Chocolate Milk, another great band from New Orleans.

Interesting that you say that because that's exactly what they sounded like in the double comp I have. Most tracks sound like they're missing a front man.

Amazing funk, some of the best, along with P-Funk, James Brown annnnd... I just realized, a lot of funk is really good.

Had a chance to see them play with dr John a couple years ago; sadly I didn't catch it, very disappointing. Got to see Cyril Neville come out and jam with warren Haynes, though
