Default Jamie Lidell

Imagine if you had a fantastic Soul voice and then decided to underpin that with weird electronica that relied a lot on your own voice put through samplers to create the music?

Or imagine that you had a great voice that could appeal to a mass market but raised a middle finger to all and made music on your own terms without bland industry suits telling you what music to make?

Welcome to Jason Lidell. Born in England and now living in Nashville and making music that Prince could die for right now.

These are all from the album Compass and it is well worth checking out even if Soul is not your thing because this drags the genre into new territories.

I think I'll need to hear more to decide whether I like his work. Does he have an album?

He has many. I'm kinda surprised that he's considered new around here.

His career has skyrocketed to the point that he now advertises Apple products..
