Apparently I can't post a link to my d/l since I have less than 15 posts...it's www dot sendspace dot com slash file slash bb0clf. Also apologies for the slightly large file size, the Tool song is lossless WMA.

I'm assuming most people on hear have already heard most of these, but here we go. These are in no particular order, these are just the 10 songs I narrowed it down to.
1) Alcest-Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde
This is just one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. The multi-layered guitar textures that create a post-rock-like environment combined with the haunting, foreign vocals combines to create absolute musical brilliance. The ending crescendo is absolute perfection as well.

2) Explosions In The Sky-Your Hand In Mine
This is the song that introduced me to post-rock and other great bands like GY!BE, Sigur Ros, etc. People who say that post-rock is pretentious, boring, and unemotional should listen to this song. I chose this song even though I think Those Who Tell The Truth... is their best album.

3) Lifehouse-Everything
I want this song played at my wedding.

Find me here
And speak to me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
You are the light
That's leading me
To the place
Where I find peace again

'Nuff said I think.

4) Luna Halo-Untouchable
I first heard this song on a friend's iPod. That night when I got home I downloaded it and listened to it for about a week straight. It's such an infectious song, one of those that you can put on repeat and not get bored with it. Relentless, driving rock. The vocals are really great too, really unique and powerful. The rest of the CD (which I later bought) is pretty damn good too.

5) Metallica-Fade To Black
Yeah yeah, we've all heard this song. I couldn't leave it off the list though. Looking forward to Death Magnetic.

Yesterday seems as though it never existed
Death greets me warm, now I will just say good-bye...

6) Pearl Jam-Black
Ten, from top to bottom, is one incredible album. I chose Black because it's probably my favorite song off the album, even though Release could give it a run for its money. The song is so incredibly depressing, highlighted by this mind-blowing ending bit here:

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a sun
In somebody else's sky, but why, why, WHY
can't it be, why can't it be mine?

7) Porcupine Tree-Trains
This is the song I'm currently addicted to after discovering PT about a week ago. I love the ending part where everything just kicks back in after that acoustic bit. Really solid song off an amazing album.

8) The Rocket Summer-She's My Baby
One of the sweetest love songs I have. No matter how hectic and busy and chaotic life gets, there's always that someone that you have in your life.

9) Snow Patrol-Headlights On Dark Roads
This was tough, because Snow Patrol is one of my favorite bands and I knew I had to choose just one song. I went with Headlights because I think it embodies everything that I like about the band.

Headlights before me
So beautiful, so clear
Reach out and take it
Cause I'm so tired of all this fear

10) Tool-10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2)
My all-time favorite band. There's so many songs I could have put on here. I chose 10,000 Days, the title track off their recent album, because it was the first Tool song I heard and the first song that really blew me away by them. Also, it was the song that left me shaking when I saw them live. An incredible, emotional epic about MJK's late mother claiming her spot in the universe.

You're the only one who can hold your head up high,
shake your fists at the gates, saying
"I have come home now!
Fetch me the spirit, the son and the father,
tell them their pillar of faith has ascended!
It's time now!
My time now!
Give me my, give me my wings!"

Thanks for reading.
