A Ska-Punk band from San Fransisco, these guys were truly punks with a purpose. The lyrics and tone of Operation Ivy's music portray a vociferous desire for social justice and a strong distrust of mainstream conformist culture.
Despite them not having much released material I still wanted to share them with you guys.

1. Take Warning
2.Freeze Up
3.Sound System
4. Unity
5. Bad Town
6.Big City
7. Healthy Body
8. Jaded
9. Artificial Life
10. Vulnerability
(^In my opinion one of there most powerful songs)

:D I love this band! This is a great compilation to, though I wish they had released more than one album... Thanks for making this, anyone that hasn't heard of Operation Ivy absolutely must give this a listen.

The Beginner's Guide To Ween

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...on_Alberta.jpg

Ween is an alternative indie psychedelic country rock band formed in New Hope Pennsylvania back in 1984. They're one of those weird bands that most people either love or have no real interest in whatsoever. However when you meet a fan of the band, they're REALLY a fan. Because of their eclectic style it makes it really hard for beginners to get into them because they usually change their sound with every other album. With this compilation I'm hoping to expose people to some of their stuff that I think is worthy of your listening. I will also include the album with every song and if it's something you think you might like, let me know and I'll see what I can do with hooking you up with a link. But for now here's a compilation of what I think are their greatest hits, hope you enjoy it!

01. "You Fucked Up" - God Ween Satan
02. "Even If You Don't" - White Pepper
03. "Piss Up A Rope" - 12 Golden Country Greats
04. "Transdermal Celebration" - Quebec
05. "Bananas And Blow" - White Pepper
06. "Mutilated Lips" - The Mollusk
07. "The Blarney Stone" - The Mollusk
08. "Mister Richard Smoker" - 12 Golden Country Greats
09. "Fluffy" - 12 Golden Country Greats
10. "Buenas Tardes Amigo" - Chocolate And Cheese
11. "Ocean Man" - The Mollusk
12. "Your Party" - La Cucaracha
13. "The HIV Song" - Chocolate and Cheese
14. "The Argus" - Quebec

I love Ween but I only have White Pepper and a handful of other songs, I'm definitely looking to expand, thanks! :thumb:

No problem, if you've got questions about Ween I would also suggest asking sidewinder because he knows far more about the band than I do, in fact I asked him for what his songs would be for a Ween mix and the ones he chose compared to mine are pretty different, only a few ones that were the same.

I like weird bands but I've never made the effort to check out Ween. Downloading now! :)

I've always wanted to look into Ween, only songs I've heard were Ocean Man and mr. Richert Smoker I think it's called?

Anyway, I'll have an Alice in Chains Comp up tomorrow.

You're right it doesn't look like there's too much overlap, in fact maybe we could do a volume 2. You know, for those that want a little bit more.

I can't believe you included "Your Party", I really don't get what people see/hear in that song.

Haha a friend of mine recommended I just give out that album as a Beginner's Guide to Ween, but I mostly included it just to piss you off.
