No, but The Divine Comedy is a medieval poem, and I think what Tore was trying to represent was the poem, not the picture.

touché

should've read the text instead of just looking at the pictures

story of my life

music_phantom13 10-09-2009 05:36 AM

Well I'm back. And I'll try to think of something for this... though I don't think I listen to very much music that is Medieval in any context. I'm sure something will come to me though.

Guybrush 10-12-2009 04:15 PM

Yup, only a couple of days left now so don't forget people :)

jackhammer 10-12-2009 05:19 PM

Wher's PMO these days? The October comp hasn't even made it out of the traps!

Yeah, I know .. not sure what's up :(

His profile says : Last Activity: 09-30-2009 11:53 AM

That's a bit weird.

edit :

One more day!

Guybrush 10-16-2009 12:44 AM

Submissions closed, comp is up! :)

Thrice 10-16-2009 12:46 AM

hellz yeah....on the DL.

c'mon sex in november.

would be such a fun theme

Guybrush 10-16-2009 06:58 AM

November's theme is going to be horror!

Resetting the poll, then people can vote for what the theme after that one should be.

By the way, the suggestions aren't exactly pouring in. Yet there are a lot of votes .. Does that mean I did a good job? :p:

edit :

Darnit, I can't delete or reset the poll so it seems I have to make a new thread with a new poll for Desember's theme. >.<

Bulldog 10-17-2009 08:48 AM

I think I've got a good track to send in. It's gonna be another obvious one from me though I'm afraid :p:

PM on the way.

edit: Second picture down is from John Carpenter's They Live - I had to write 2000 words about it once. No idea what the others are, though the second from the bottom pretty interesting

Guybrush 10-17-2009 08:53 AM

By the way, kudos to whoever can identify the 4 movies I put up pictures from in the first post :p:

Molecules 10-17-2009 03:07 PM

Oh of course, that's Jeffrey Coombs staring at that geezer's severed head eh.

You've never seen They Live before? Tut tut

Guybrush 10-17-2009 04:32 PM

Well, your guesses have been correct so far. The Hellraiser picture is from the second film.

What about the little psycho with the scalpel? :p:

Guybrush 10-19-2009 08:01 AM

Here to inspire a little more is one of my favourite creatures from horror, Cthulhu, one of the Great Old Ones who sleeps in the city of R'lyeh at the bottom of the ocean.

What's good about the great old ones is that the benefits from worshipping them can be rather real and tangible. The dumb thing is so are the drawbacks!

Sorry, it's not child's play, but like Child's Play, it is from the late 80s.

The story is from a book by a famous horror writer.

music_phantom13 10-20-2009 10:47 AM

Don't quote me on this, it's been quite a few years, but is the last one Pet Sematary? It looked really familiar until you said it was from a book and then it hit me.

You got it :)

And I thought it would be the easiest one!

Stone Birds 10-20-2009 04:37 PM

I'm not sure i'll be downloading this one, cause it's probably going to be a bunch of metal and screamo.

I think it'll get pretty varied. I know although I haven't settled on a track yet, I'm probably not gonna pick a metal or screamo song. I think there could be a lot of interesting ideas on this comp. :)

I've recieved a few tracks already and, in fact, none of them were screamo or metal. Not trying to discourage anyone from submitting that kind of music, just saying I don't think it'll dominate!

Just found out that it's Pet Semetary. I didn't get it because I thought it sucked rofl.

I knew I'd see that one before.

i know what track i'm submitting :)
sending... (i'm slow so it might take a few minutes for me to get a link)

Stone Birds 11-01-2009 01:19 PM

Hey Tore, you can put up the horror comp now (I'm very anxious)

+81 11-01-2009 01:41 PM

I thought the deadline was November 15th. I'm still going to submit one soon.

Guybrush 11-01-2009 02:50 PM

Yep, the deadline is not in another two weeks. Keep your socks on!

Guybrush 11-09-2009 11:41 PM

Alright, less than a week left and I only have 6 submissions so far. Don't forget about it :)

+81 11-10-2009 12:11 PM

I can't decide if I want to go for music with more of a horror feel or something with more in the lyrical content. If it's lyrics my choice might be very un-scary.

Roemilca 11-10-2009 12:34 PM

Crap, my ideal choice for this has probably already been submitted. I'll submit mine in like, an hour, as soon as I get home.

jackhammer 11-10-2009 04:22 PM

I wasn't going to take part in this one but I managed to find an half OK track for inclusion. PM sent.

CanwllCorfe 11-10-2009 05:02 PM

Sent!

Zarko 11-12-2009 08:33 PM

How many do you have Tore?

People haven't exactly been flocking to it like I hoped they would, but counting my own, there's 10 songs from 10 contributors.

Hmm, keep this bumped and we may get a few more.

A more difficult comp. than first anticipated. I don't think mine is even 'that' horror...

Guybrush 11-13-2009 06:28 AM

Typically a lot of people contribute the last two days so I'm expecting some contributions in the near future :)

+81 11-13-2009 11:08 AM

I'm one of those people.

sidewinder 11-13-2009 04:03 PM

I'm finding it more difficult than the others, but also the fact that it's not stickied makes it easy to forget about it.

Zarko 11-15-2009 09:20 PM

How'd we go Tore?

music_phantom13 11-16-2009 09:37 AM

Oops... I completely forgot to submit :/
