Sure they have made some dud tracks in their time, but which band hasn't in their time. That's it I'm compiling a tull comp! |

Also, I really didn't mind the Jethro Tull. I don't think I'd ever heard their music before, but that wasn't bad. |

Downloaded this, will give it a go tomorrow. Looking forward to it, seems like a very eclectic mix.

and i don't think i still have a clear enough picture of everyone else's taste to really give it a good guess. great comp, though. |
Listened to Part I so far, some brief thoughts. Standouts in red.
Rural Alberta Advantage-Pretty meh, I almost downloaded this album awhile back and never did, I'd kind of be curious to hear the whole thing now but by itself this was just okay. Jazzstepper-Like others have said this is a pretty chill track. Could easily be one to slip on late at night. Don't listen to much stuff like this. $.99 Dreams-One of the early standouts from the first half. Loved the sax. Loved pretty much everything. Foxy Shazam-What the fuck? Big Big Train-Not really my thing, but some pretty nice guitar work on this track. Cocteau Twins-Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Yummy. Need more of this. Gutter Twins-Songs like these are why I love these comps. Another standout. Chromeo-Pretty interesting listen, but probably would never listen again haha. Lizzy Mercier Descloux-Wasn't able to get into this one. Sorry. Two Lone Swordsmen-Wasn't too bad. Once again I'm not sure how often I'd listen to it, but it was definitely interesting. |
Part II:
M83-Nice blend of post-rock/shoegaze. Would definitely listen again. The Sorrows-Not my thing. Sorry. Thinking Fellers Union Local 282-Not too bad, actually. Nice and mellow. Luniz-Pretty meh. I don't listen to much rap and this isn't good enough to merit checking out further. Envy On The Coast-Didn't enjoy this one much either. Reminded me of Coheed & Cambria but with more of a pop-punk edge. Twinkranes-Actually a pretty tight electronic track. Thought it got better as it went along. Nathan Haines-Also enjoyed this one. Nice groove with the jazz instruments in the background, and I dug the vocals. Good song all-around. Jethro Tull-I've never listened to Tull before, so I guess I'm kind of neutral. I liked it, the flute was definitely unique. Might download the beginner's comp that jackhammer posted if I remember. Stone Birds-Again not a bad track, I haven't heard the original so it's kind of hard to judge the cover. Vocals stood out on this one. The No Smoking Band-This was NumberNine's, right? Definitely a great way to end the comp, I can't honestly say how often I would listen to this but it was a very interesting and enjoyable 4 minutes to say the least. Cheers:beer: |
The person who guessed Jazzsteppa as mine, good job!
Spot on, 'n sh*t! :D |
Pretty sure $.99 Dreams is Zarko...and if he has a link to the rest of that EP, it'd be amazing.

Ha yeah, I try not to look at people's Last.FMs for this thing but I wound up on the artist page looking for the album info and recognized your avatar.
