Very cheesy I admit, but my favorite soundtrack song is "No Easy Way Out" from Rocky IV. I also really like "Hearts on Fire" from the same Rocky. Seriously.....those montages, golden! But cheesy. But golden!

hahaha fair enough. that whole soundtrack is ace from start to finish if i remember right though (same with The Crow, which tends to pop up a lot in threads like this).

though for me, the best Smashing Pumpkins soundtrack song is from another movie getting lots of praise (far more than the actual film ever deserved). also thanks to the internet for making so many crap homemade videos for this track that it's impossible to find an actual official video of the right song (the only clip of the 'official' video is for a demo version of the song... )

and even more shocking!!! a U2 song i don't hate

good god those middle Batman movies were horrible.

Haha...that movie was on TV last night. I thought since it had been years since I had seen it I might be able to put up with it. I thought I might get the whole "so bad it's good" thing...but no. It was just bad. I got through 3 Arnie puns and I decided it just wasn't happening. I tuned in to the credits, though, so I could catch that Pumpkins song in action.

My personal favorite:

Recorded for the movie "Lost Highway". Actually, there is some pretty good stuff overall on that soundtrack...but still...
First song I thought of before I even opened the thread.

"Drown" from the Singles soundtrack is also one of my favorite soundtrack-only songs, coincidentally.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Precisely, except the song has nothing really to do with The Velvet Underground, as it's from Lou Reed's 1972 solo album Transformer. So you're right, it doesn't make sense in this thread. Edit: Rickenbacker beat me to it.

This is also a favorite soundtrack-only song. And NIN's "Dead Souls" (a cover, I know) from the same movie.

As far as NIN's "The Perfect Drug", I never really saw the big deal about that song.

There are lots of great soundtrack songs. My personal favorite is an old one:

St Elmo's Fire by John Parr

A great song and a great voice.
