Took this pic this morning. I've never seen a sun effect like this, where the lines almost form a circle.



That isn't any kind of glare from the camera, either. It looked even better in person.

Wicked. Sun dogs...learn something new every day. The article mentions ice crystals, and yeah, there were these tiny particles floating in the air. They looked like gold dust (not snowflakes). I guess they were ice crystals. I've been through a lot of winters, but as I say, never seen something like this.

You're photo's such a amazing textbook example of this phenomenon.
Must be a thousand times more beautiful to see it with your own eyes.
You were really lucky, apparently tons of factors have to come together for that to happen.
