Yeah, they just have way too much firepower. They look nearly unstoppable right now. Anything can happen in the final game though.

I would have gone to Budaj over Tokarski in game 2. Not that Tokarski cost them the game, but it was way too early in the series to go to a wildcard like Tokarski. Budaj is one of the more reliable backups.

Bergevin, Lombardi, Murray for GM of the year

He bolstered the offence with the summer signing of Daniel Briere and also added grit with the off-season acquisitions of Douglas Murray and George Parros.

It's such a weird award though. It's too difficult to measure how good a GM was for just one year of work. For example, Yzerman didn't do anything this year in regards to Palat other than just keeping him in the line-up, but he did steal him in the 7th round in 2011. Do the voters take that into account? Some probably do and some probably don't.

Others are probably just voting strictly for this year's work (immediate returns from a draft pick like Mackinnon, a free agent that worked out well like Jagr, or a big trade like Seguin).

And others probably just measure it by team performance. If your team had a great season, credit the GM for putting or keeping that team together no matter how they did it.

Yep exactly. The award doesn't really make any sense at this point. The criteria are so ambiguous and it does just end up being teams that had success. Bergevin can probably just give it to price if he wins

So what do you guys think of the suspensions on Carcillo (10 games) & Prust (2 games) in the Habs/Rangers series? I think in particular a suspension on Carcillo is justified but 10 games seems excessive.

Isn't that the minimum for that suspension?
