Tonight's best game, Dallas is at the Kings, while there's a lof of hockey left to play I expect these two teams to figure prominently in the west. Near the end of the 1st period the Stars just tied the game at 2-2

So we're just over the halfway point, Washington (73 points) looks like they're running away from everybody in the east and the league for the Presidents' Trophy. There's four teams dominating the west, two of them, Chicago (68 points) and Los Angeles (61 points), winning 5 of 6 cups this decade. Also making bold statements are Dallas (63 points) and St. Louis (61 points)

Having said all that, all you really have to in the NHL is get in the playoffs, where literally any team can get hot, as opposed to the NBA that rarely produces any serious threats to the top few seeds.

How about them Blackhawks. 12 in a row, and Panarin is looking like a young Kane.

Yes, and the "old" Kane looks pretty strong too

I can see Washington slowing down a bit here. But Id love to see them win the cup, I just really want to see Ovi hold it. Nashville could be a sexy sleeper if Rinne figures it out.

I am just really hoping the Ducks miss playoffs, but theyre in the garbage dump pacific so they probably will

Dub report...

My Everett Silvertips (yes, they're still my Tips even though I'm back in Portland, they always will be) are just on FIRE having blown past Seattle (which is actually in Kent, WA) into 1st place in the US Division, even taking 3 in a row from mighty Kelowna with 1 left to play. The reasons are 1. head coach Kevin Contantine and his stifling defensive philosophy, and 2. goalie Carter Hart, odds on favorite for Del Wilson Trophy for goaltender of the year, and who may very well pick up the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy for MVP

Speaking of Kane, did ya see "fight" between him and John Scott during the All Star game?

John Scott pulling the nhl's pants down and then singlehandedly saving the all star game is one of the best hockey sagas in a long time.

I never watch any ASG except MLB, but I heard that Scott was entertaining as f*ck...
