The x-factor is the Penguins hunger. They are a very talented offensive team and with the Wings fresh off a Cup victory it's unlike they'll be as desperate for the cup as Pittsburgh.

I can't wait.

i'm not one for arguing, but i will say that the Penguins have much more depth this year than last. and with a healthy roster, this is certainly going to make for a good series.

i do hope this sparks some deep-seated rivalry.

Me too. I hope these teams meet four or five more times in the next decade.

My favorite two franchises ever.

I'll be the first to tell you Pittsburgh makes me nervous, but the Wings are so good, if healthy I don't think anyone can beat them.

trust me, i feel the same about the Penguins.

and the Wings. i was a really big fan of them throughout the Fedorov/Yzerman years, still am quite a bit. they're a disciplined team with a storied franchise and a great history.

You should check out whatifsports.com it's a pretty fun site. You can create your own team out of every player from every season all-time and simulate them against any team ever.
